Being a female medicine specialist Professor Syeda Feroja Begum marked her deep affection for the Eye Physician Shomiti. When the construction of OSB building started there was a large contribution from her. In personal life late Professor M.A. Jalil, the husband of Professor Feroja Begum, was a renowned teacher and physician in the field of ophthalmology. She was the teacher of all the aged teachers of the present time in the field of graduate and postgraduate level. For this unique affiliation with the activities of the Eye Physician Samiti, Professor Feroja Begum, who devoted her life as a full-time teacher like Professor M.A. Jalil and will always remain as our inspiration. To commemorate their memory Feroja-Jalil Award has been inaugurated. This award has also been dedicated to develop the activities of the young eye physicians.
